Hi, I’m Sam. And this is my dog, Rambo.

The idea for this app came to me in the middle of a pet store. I was standing in the aisle, surrounded by at least a dozen bags of dog food, digging through their ingredient lists. Time must have slipped away, because when I looked up, a woman was staring at me, clearly puzzled. I smiled and explained that my dog has allergies- he’s a Staffie -and I needed to find a kibble he could eat that didn’t have any of the things the bothered him.

Right then, a giant Pitbull came tearing around the corner, dragging a woman behind him. The dog ran straight for me, bowled me over, and began licking my face. I took it as a sign.

Turns out, the couple was there for the same reason. They’d just adopted the dog from a local shelter and realized that the messes in their yard weren’t from stress or eating grass. Rather, it was the food that they were feeding him. They’d been watching me pull down bag after bag, just as lost as I was.

That’s when it hit me. There are a lot of people out there with dogs like mine, dealing with this exact same problem. And that’s how the idea for Feed Right was born.

Fast forward a year or so, and here we are, up and running. I’ve made this app free, with minimal ads, and a revenue stream dependent on affiliate marketing, so that everyone has access to this tool. I hope it makes everyone’s life a little bit easier.
